I’ve been craving a dog for weeks, and I can’t decide between a Shetland Nibbler or a Prince Hafrington Manx. My friend has a nibbler, and it’s an adorable dog, but on average a nibbler MUST sleep 23 hours a day making it not as fun as the High-energy Hafrington. But I’m on the fence about the Hafrington because of it’s over sized teets and floppy lips. The Heffrington is historically known as the “Cuddlers dog” whereas the Nibbler is more of a conversation piece as it is always sleeping.
Financially the Hafrington is more expensive. It’s teets tend to meld together and every few months you have to take them in to have their teets seperated. Also it’s flopping lips are prone to getting snagged on branches and that can lead to high vet bills, but according to my uncle the Hafrington cuddles like no other dog.
They say that a man with a Shetland Nibbler tends to have better luck but not as much fun, while the owner of a Hafrington will have lots of fun but not as much money.
Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with these breeds.
